Most recently, Japhet performed in John Proctor is the Villain at the Huntington Theatre, written by Kimberly Belflower and directed by Margot Bordelon.

He made his Broadway debut in Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play Leopoldstadt, directed by Patrick Marber at the Longacre Theatre. 

He has appeared in numerous critically acclaimed stage productions in Chicago, and trained with both the Atlantic Theatre and Steppenwolf Theatre. He made the Chicago Tribune’s list of 10 Hot New Faces in 2017, fwiw. 

On-camera credits include a lead role in the Freeform romantic comedy The Thing about Harry, directed by Peter Paige, as well as roles on "Fargo,""Empire,""The Chi," and both "Chicago Med" and "Chicago P.D."

He is a proud member of both SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
